How to Identify if You Need an Intensive Outpatient Counseling Treatment?
Admitting you’re having problems with mental health issues or substance misuse is a huge first step to take toward getting the help you need. Suffering with either one is hard enough on your own. With either one, though, often come other problems that just add to the pain you’ve already been trying to manage and possibly self-medicating to alleviate.
We understand how hard it is to deal with what you’ve been trying to cope with. It’s not something you need to do alone. Trying to quit by yourself the substances you may have been abusing is not recommended, especially if the reason you’ve turned to substances is because of issues with your mental health or underlying reasons that have affected your mental health.
Trying to make sense of what came first, the mental health issues or the substance abuse problems, isn’t important right now. What is important is you’ve taken your first step toward getting the care you need to successfully recover control over your life, restore hope, and improve your overall wellness, which will ultimately lead to long-term healing.
The substance abuse treatment professionals at Hygeia Health Rehabilitation can give you the tools and treatment that best fits your needs while ensuring you have a safe environment to heal in. They will also provide you with the care you require with patience, understanding, and respect.
Our Treatment Plan: Substance Abuse IOP Treatment
Part of the care you may require may include intensive outpatient treatment. This type of care is for adults who need a level of treatment that isn’t the same as inpatient care but is more structured and rigorous than individual or group therapy alone.
Adults who have a history of mental health issues, long-term substance abuse, or a combination of both are often the clients that get referred to our Intensive Outpatient Program Substance Abuse Program (IOP). Individuals with undiagnosed or co-occurring disorders are also usually referred to our IOP treatment if our specialists feel it’s in their best interests for recovery.
The level of care in our IOP treatment and counseling, as well as its duration, is specifically designed to provide a continuous, structured program that is patient-focused and deeply thorough while remaining goal-oriented and attentive to your situation.
Because it has the word “intensive” in the program title, many have trepidations about participating in such a program. Don’t let that bother you. If anything, replace the word “intensive” with “hard work” you may have a better idea of what will be expected of you in the program.
Yes, hard work is a must in our IOP treatment and counseling. But that’s also good, and you won’t be alone.
Again, this is a patient-focused program, so you’ll be doing a lot of work on yourself to improve yourself and overcome your struggles. That doesn’t mean you’ll be alone. Our staff of professionals and licensed clinicians will be right there with you, bringing a team-centric approach that compliments the patient-focus aspect and combines with it to see your ultimate success in recovery at Hygeia Health Rehabilitation.
